I just started playing Assassin’s Creed Unity again after dropping 90 dollars on it the night it came out. That’s right, I got the Gold Edition, that came with the Season Pass. I played it twice, realized it was a broken, glitchy, flaming pile of garbage and turned it off, deciding I wasn’t going to play it again until Ubisoft decided to finish the damn game. Well three patches later, and it seems like we’re heading there. I fired up the game the other day and played it a couple of times since. Even though the framerate hitches up a tiny bit now, the game is nothing like when I first played it. Arno hasn’t fallen through the world once, and I am not getting motion sickness from all the framerate changes. However, Ubisoft is still not done trying to make this game resemble a finished product. Coming Monday, December 15, Patch 4 will be deployed across all platforms for AC Unity, hoping to finish fixing framerate issues, and other things, like connectivity issues, as well as problems with online matchmaking.
Despite how seriously this game takes itself compared to the lighter-hearted Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, I am enjoying it now that the game runs close to properly. If this can fix the last few problems, I will be really happy. Granted, the free Ubi game I am getting eventually doesn’t hurt either. All it took on my part was a little patience. Which I am cool with, I had other games to play anyway. That worked.
