According to Siliconera, The Pokemon Company has announced that the 3DS remakes of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire have combined to ship over 7.7 million units. Before coming out in Europe a week after Japan and North America, the titles had sold about 3 million units. It appears the folks across the pond are still quite hungry for enslaving cute monsters in tiny balls. I know I am, I have my copy digitally.
On top of the flat number of units shipped, some other info was shared. Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire had launch sales that were about 135% of Pokemon X and Y. Maybe a fresh coat of graphical paint was all the tried and true series needed. Without the crippling Yo-Kai Watch addiction Japan is currently going through, it seems as if the rest of the world is content with cosplaying Pikachu. This isn’t a bad thing. That said, I want Yo-Kai Watch, hop on it Level-5.
